This first EP from Empire State goes in 3 different directions. The first one resolutely punk, the second industrial/techno and the third very inspired by cold/new wave. From it comes out an industrial and brutal music almost perverse, whose sonic matter was necessarily created with industrial materials, mixing electronics and raw noise recorded acoustically near abandoned factory plants. In this music of rage, the rhythms are martial and the slope ressembles the jagged teeth of a saw. Equally cathartic as it is devastating Empire State’ Phocean Phalanx delves into a music made for dancing, made for howling and kick out the pressure.
